Between June, 21–25 the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival will be held. Within the FAFF program 420 works from 32 countries will be present. Eight films made it to the animation competition, among which there are also works that won awards at the world’s most prestigious animation film festivals, Annecy, Bucheon, the European Film Award and the Tokyo Anime Award. By-the-way 23 of the 27 nominated works have already been at several prestigious festivals. Will be able to watch 7 European TV specials, 18 European and 13 Hungarian TV series. 19 Hungarian short films (recently selected for Annecy), 26 Hungarian applied animations (advertising spots, video clips, signals and commissioned short films) and 28 Hungarian student films competing at the largest animation festival to be held in Hungary. In addition to the competition programs, thematic panoramic screenings, retrospective selections, film industry consultations and master classes, as well as workshops and exhibitions will add color to the festival’s offer, which is free to attend.
Two Hungarian films are also starting, both in the European and Hungarian supplementary competitions, which were recently invited to this year’s Annecy Animation Film Festival: Áron Gauder’s film “The Four Souls of the Coyote” – talks about how we can live in harmony with our environment through the Native American story of creation. which is not too late to save our Planet. Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó‘s rotoscoping animation, “Plastic Sky“- takes the viewer into the future 100 years from now, when it may already be too late … The host Kecskemétfilm generously did not enter their own work, Toldi, into the competition, but Marcell Jankovics will be screened out of competition by his last work, which was also invited to Annecy this year. Short films include Gypsy Tales, Confessions of Hungarian Saints, The Adventures of Bean Berci, Bogyó és Babóca and Puskás and Young Bother and Friends.
