The Teva Pharmaceutical Ltd., had called the invited media representatives to announce its highly successful tender at the Ethnography Museum @ Városliget. This year came to its 2nd year in recognition to those who participated in value-creating healthcare initiatives that significantly contribute to improving the quality of life of patients with their selfless assistance.
A total of 110 entries were received, so over the past two years, the organizers were able to learn more about a total of 250 heart-warming initiatives. HUF 5.8 million in prize money was distributed among the prize winners by the tender’s organizer through the ceremonial award ceremony that was combined at the end with lunch. Regarding to last year, nominations for the award were made in two categories … private individuals and health professionals … health and educational institutions … social … civil and economic organizations. The internal jury evaluated the applications received based on the criteria specified in the announcement: usefulness … sustainability … empathy … closeness to people, novelty … creativity. Teva employees voted for the winners out of 12 finalist applications with a chance to win. At the award ceremony Jelena Livšica – Chief Commercial Officer said that Teva created the Humanizing Health Awards program, which took place in several countries, in order to draw attention to the importance of patient-centered initiatives in addition in recognizing the best applications. The project of the applicant, who works as a beautician and make-up tattoo artist, stems from personal involvement, her role model, her grandmother, died of cancer, so she experienced how cancer patients can gradually lose their femininity as the treatments progress. He wants to help them with his offer. Dr. András Tivadar Kulja: Comprehensible and authentic online health education – for more informed patients. The health education TitTok channel launched by the winner for the first time in Hungary gained 332 thousand followers in 2 years. According to the surgeon candidate and university lecturer, healthcare workers must adapt to people’s changed information consumption habits, so that they can fight sites that mislead patients on social media platforms as well. Healthcare, educational institution, social, civil and economic organization Démétér Foundation: Démétér program for children who have undergone bone marrow transplantation. The Démétér Ház(House) in addition to ensuring the constant presence of their parents in the hospital for children from the countryside, also offers learning opportunities, a psychologist and programs, thus making the time spent here easier and reducing isolation. The unique rehabilitation program has already made the months spent with the disease easier for nearly 800 families. Supporters Therapy and Assistance Dog Foundation: How dogs change the atmosphere of a hospice care unit. The foundation supports the lives of people with health, psychological, social or other difficulties with specially trained assistance dogs. In a hospice department, there is a great need for happy moments, touch, connection, attention, everything that a dog can give – with its kind being and unconditional love – whether it is terminal patients, relatives or workers.
Special prize of the 2023 jury of the Emberarcú Egészségért (For Health with a Human Face) award was received by the member of the Budapest Methodological Social Center and its Institutions: Trauma-sensitive gynecological care for homeless women. In October of last year was the first in Hungary to establish trauma-sensitive gynecological care for homeless women. Behind women becoming homeless in half of the cases is some form of abuse: domestic or relationship violence, sexual abuse. The basic idea is that anyone who walks through the door may carry wounds that may make it difficult for them to participate in the examination. The prize of the winning tenders is Hungarian Forint one million gross each, and the other eight finalist tenders are worth 100000HUF gross.
