The exceptionally talented cook, Eugenie, and her employer, the famous gourmet Dodin Bouffant, have been creating together for twenty years in the kitchen of the beautiful French mansion. From their special relationship, impressive gastronomic masterpieces are born, which amaze even the world’s most famous chefs. The two people bond more and more deeply, but Dodin has to face the fact that Eugenie does not want to marry him. He starts cooking for the woman to prove that he is looking for her not only as a wife, but as an equal partner…

Set in 1885, the film was based on Marcel Rouff’s novel La Vie et la passion de Dodin Bouffant, gourmet (The Passionate Gourmet), directed by Anh Hung Tran (The Scent of Green Papaya, 1993, Norwegian Forest, 2010), starring Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel.

The film was shot at Segré-en-Anjou Bleu Castle on the Loire.
