SEPTEMBER, 13-13 THE NATIONAL 17TH COOP RALLY HIT THE ROADS, SO WAS SAID AR the press conference held today. About the coming up two-days program … nearly 300 participants from more than 100 companies will visit eight stations. Six food manufacturing companies and 2 COOP member companies in Western Hungary. László Pekó reported on the previous results… The professional program launched in 2006 has so far visited 135 suppliers that manufacture and distribute food products and other daily consumer goods. These are 100% domestically owned retail company groups. In connection with this, he emphasized: the COOP Group, which operates nearly 2,200 stores in more than 1,400 settlements in the country, ensures the daily supply of one million customers in such a way that 95,000 Hungarian products are sold in their stores, including more than 800 own-brand products, 90 percent of which are domestically produced. Speaking about last year’s sales revenue of the company group, which employs almost 20,000 people and ensures the livelihood of 400 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, he noted that last year their sales revenue increased by 19% in the last five years.

In 2021, the presence of the COOP started in the framework of the Hungarian Village Program
covering almost the entire territory of the country, it significantly improved the living conditions of nearly 450,000 small-town residents and thus 168 new work opportunities. At the small villages folks don’t just do their everyday shopping, but to get to know each other … chat … build their community.

Nothing proves their results better than the fact that between 2018 and 2023 they were also recognized with the Value and Quality Grand Prix trademark.

COOP has supported the Hungarian Olympic Committee since 1996, and as a strategic partner from 2021, within the framework of which it supports the preparation of the Hungarian Olympic Team and promotes the Olympics ideal. Regarding to the next year’s Olympics in Paris, he emphasized that the preparations are going well. The Hungarian team currently has more than 50 quota places, which, if everything goes well, could be 180 sporters present. At this year’s COOP Rally 4 of Hungarian Olympic champions will be rolling on the route … Fencer Emese Szász, Swimmer Dani Gyurta, Water Polo players Zoltán Kósz and Norbert Hosnyánszky.

Since 2010, the COOP Aid Foundation has donated more than HUF 150 million, almost 400 tons of food, to the needy people, in trouble through no fault of their own and to children in need of special care raised in state care.
