The Tornai family has been dealing with winemaking since 1946 on Mt. Somló. The Mt. Somló, a mountain that rises sharply out of the flat area. Endre Tornai – the founder, started viniculture and winemaking on a one-acre vineyard. To-day the land measures 54 acres and it is the third generation now that is engaged in the everyday tasks of the wine-cellar.

The ars poetica of their business, besides respecting traditions, is the use of state-of-the-art winemaking and processing technologies. The Tornai Winery as the dominant winery of Mt. Somló, based on several decades of experience, is the initiator and supporter of the wine-production co-operation of the region. Their goal is the wines of Mt. Somló preserve their values both on a national and international level.

Tourist visiting Hungary and foreigners working, living in Hungary hang around to enjoy the sight-and-sound of Budapest, but Hungary is more that just visiting Budapest. The Tornai Cellar is a must-visit local hub of wine production and well organized tourism venue. Tornai wines have an outstanding international reception. No need to say, cause the indicated highest awards achieved speak or in other words … taste for themselves.

Even for a short time stay in Hungary, definitely worthwhile to plan and go for it to visit the Tornai Cellar. A place to dissolve, free your mind, good opportunity get to know more about the winery itself whilst tasting the excellent flavors of wines from the grape clusters growing on volcanic soil at the rich Somló Mountain vineyards.

Congratulation to the intellectual and practical knowledge by the Tornai Celler!
