The WTO is celebrated on the 27th of September of each year to bring attention to the importance of tourism to the international community. Countries from all over the world, whether big and small are depending on tourism for its economic survival and to highlight their cultural, social value
The decision was made by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) that in 2018 the World Tourism Day will be hosted by Hungary, more precisely Budapest on September, 27. 2018.
Many Budapest service providers have joined the World Tourism Day and offer discounts on the 27th and/or even through the whole weekend! The central theme of the events in Hungary, aims to raise awareness of the relationship between nature and the importance of tourism to the best ecotourism sites and services.
Beside the Capital, many tourist regions are participating in the World Tourism Day’s events.. The domestic and the foreign guests will enjoy to roll over to superb and sophisticated Budapest’s locations. The world tourism day offers several locations through the Tourist Information Offices network.
Last year in late September 2017 Qatar was adopted,

India will be adopted in 2019.
… And … most likely beside not being the Capital of the World Tourism Day, celebrations will take place worldwide.
