THE GREATEST FALL’S FESTIVAL IN BUDAPEST – 2012 PÁLINKA AND SAUSAGE FESTIVAL

Whether you are an adrenaline junkie, a  gastro lover, make your downtime uptime in the following 4 days from to-day!

Celebs took a visit to Mexico, at least to taste the great  cocktails prepared by the Hungarian world champion bartender’s  El Jimador tequilla cocktails

and also  had to show their skills on the target shooters to win  a bottle of the fine  tequilla.

Enjoy dozens-and-dozens of expertly selected fruits, distilled to become as the finest Hungarian pálinka to be served to the local and foreigners visiting at this year’s 6th Pálinka and Sausage Festival in Budapest!

Believe me or not you can eat imaginatively the mouth-watering,  absolutely all Hungarian  food  without spending a fortune. These are  all prepared in the traditional manner just  in front of your two eyes.

When we talk about eating,  we think about three main sections, as to eat in, eat out,
eat away. Here at the top of the buda-hilly side you can forget the eat-in time and go for the remaining two options.  What is to eat without having a nice snip of some of the great pálinka or having amazingly rich in taste of wines from the finest vineyard plantations in Hungary. Probably, not all know, in the way back times there were active volcanos  throughout the country. To-day, only stands the remain of the volcanic soil  and the vineyards on these soils give the special taste of the wines that nowhere else on our globe can be found. That’s what makes them so special!

Now not forgetting of what this year’s Pálinka and Sausage Festival is about … this year as the guest of the festival Mexico is in Town with its  unique tequilla and food that are the most popular mexican “wraps”  to  eat day-after-day.

Oh, and beside yumming all day long, eating original Hungarian and Mexican food, especially hopping  by the “Menzel Mexican Restaurant” is a worthwhile,  something to keep in mind. During the afternoons and when the sun goes down, there are live concerts for all tastes to feed your ears. To be there you can get your daily wristband pon the spot with the unlimited admission for that day, or get your 4 days pass which also includes the typical in shape and size of a real traditional Hungarian pálinka glass. It is yours  for good, as to remind you of the “holic” time you spent with your hubby, family or friends at Budapest’s  greatest timeout of the year.

Opening hours for your daily ticket: Thursday and Friday  2 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday  noon.

The gate is open until 2 a.m. except on Sunday when the Pálinka and Sausage Festival goes to sleep for another year!

Here’s a list of the musicians and artists to be heard and to dance the night away for those weekenders who wish to also lend their ears for good music:

4 DAYS UPDATE AT THE BLUES, BEER, FOOD FESTIVAL

Where shall I start … hmmm … well the locals and foreigners didn’t haven to hitchhike north to Chicago and spend any of the four days to listen to some fine mellow blues music  and of course getting into the schmooze! „More blues than you can handle“ probably describes best the 4-day events which took place at this year 15th Budapest’s Corvin promenade Beer and Blues Festival. On the spot  everyone’s need was served to get the feeling of the wonderful sound of the Blues music along with the  “liquid bread” the variety of Hungarian and beers from Europe’s grand labels.

Nobody can not enjoy the best music with a dry throat and being  hungry. Many beer stands, food cooked, baked, fried in the oven, on the stoves were available to ease these pains. The past years the beer producers have come up with beers having the fruit tastes. One of the liquid  in pleasure was “RIZMAYER” beer, the sour cherry flavored beer and the sour cherry dipped in cognac beer made many their day. Of course the Hungaricum, the Pálinka didn’t wish to stay at home, couldn’t have missed not to show up at the Blues Festival. Group of local and foreigner people certainly enjoyed  probably the last days of the passing summertime with blue sky along with the blues and all the city what it offered. Probably the sky and the clear full moon enjoyed the air-filled with the blues.

Throughout the 4 days, from noon till 11 p.m.  superb groups shared their music and it was seen how much good and quality music can be offered by domestic, European and American blues artists.

During the 4 days  the  blues menu was provided by 16 groups and bands and DJ’s.

Mentioning some that can been seen in the slide show: Ms. Karen Carroll and Mbb, Mr. Tamás Szabó and Mojo, Tom White band, Mystery Gand, Jambalaya, Jimi Hendrix Memorial, Mr. György Ferenczi and the Rackajam.

The 15th Blues and Beer Festival met all the expectations and there’s no back,  except, if not in recalling the enjoyable time you had there! See you next year at the 16th Beer and Blues Festival in Budapest or somewhere in Hungary!

The outdoor music festival surely was extremely versatile, catchy and perfectly accurate!

I missed it a bit and hoping next year there will be more Ladies of the Blues participating at the 16th Blues Festival at Budapest. So here’s a lesson to the be heard by the organisers!

Hopefully our Bluestourisim will also grow higher in the coming years!

HERALD NEWS FROM THE GREEN HOUSE IN BUDAPEST

Herald news of the new tenants in the office buildings at the Green House in Budapest.

I bet all employees are wearing some green when they enter the

GREENIEST HOUSE IN BUDAPEST!

Green House Restaurant  – Zöld Ház Étterem Ltd. – won the tender to operate the 463 sq m restaurant on the ground floor of Green House, Hungary’s only LEED Platinum pre-certified office building in the District XIII. at Budapest.

The doors to open on the 1st of  February, 2013.

Managing Director Ms.Annabella Zaváczki said that the restaurant could accommodate 300 guests at a time, and they would serve diverse international food with a wide range of healthy options. Both the restaurant and the adjacent cafeteria will be open to the general public.

Skanska Property Hungary’s Managing Director Mr. Grzegorz Strutynski welcomed the new tenant in the building. “Healthy, organic dining options are also part of an all-around green work environment, and Skanska is glad to seal the cooperation with a company that pays special attention to that important aspect.”

Have had given this overview of the existence and other information in my previous update, let alone by saying what might sound as interesting to hear the background to my readers again …. here it goes:Throughout 125 years, Skanska has been a modern and innovative developer and contractor, building what society needs. To-day, Skanska is one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups with expertise in construction, development of commercial and residential projects and public-private partnerships. The Group currently has 53,000 employees in selected home markets in Europe, in the US and Latin America. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. They are also listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Skanska’s sales in 2011 totaled SEK 123 billion.”

Based on its global green experience, Skanska aims to be the clients’ first choice for Green solutions.

To-day one of our main daily activities is to be on the road, whether for leisure or heading for work, but what a disgusting feeling is to travel on bad, dumping roads. Well within the 125 years Skanska by request provided roads and as well awesome bridges to cross over to the other side of the road. Their first asphalt road  lay in Borlänge in 1927 and Jordberga in 1889 in Sweden. If you think of it, it’s almost two centuries ago. Some would say …  gosh it’s history. In the mid ’50 Skanska built its 1st. „expressway” connecting Malmö to Lund in Sweden.

Talking about the bridges, we in Budapest are aware of eye-catching bridge. We have 10 bridges connecting back-and-forth over crossing the River Danube. The Skanska also provided superb bridges to meet the eye.

The Opera House in Stockholm was built by the company within 2 years from 1888 until 1890 and this was Skanska’s first major assignment. I believe,  seeing only on postcard th Royal Opera house in Stockholm wears its name perfectl. It really has the look of royalty. By-the-way … at first glance … indeed … you may discover similarities to the Hungarian State House and the Opera House in Stockholm.
